Historic agreement on health tourism

NEU Hospital Board Member Ahmet Savaşan said that with the signed agreement, more patients from Russian-speaking countries will be sent to Northern Cyprus, which will create an important added value.

Within the scope of the 7th International Health Tourism Forum hosted by NEU Hospital by B2B Encounters with the participation of over 100 delegates, an international cooperation agreement for Health Tourism was signed between NEU Hospital and 15 countries that came to TRNC.

In the statement, the international agreement signed at the ceremony held at the NEU Hospital with the participation of delegates from Turkey, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Israel and India was signed by Ahmet Savaşan, Board Member and General Manager of Tourism Enterprises of NEU Hospital from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Dr. Sevim Erkmen, Chief Physician of NEU Hospital, Mert Akkök, President of B2B Encounters from Turkey, as well as representatives of 15 Russian-speaking countries.

SAVAŞAN: “THE RUSSIAN MARKET IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR KKTC”

In his speech at the ceremony, Ahmet Savaşan said that the Russian market has a great potential for the TRNC in terms of Health Tourism and emphasized that Northern Cyprus has created an alternative health tourism destination for Russian-speaking countries thanks to its geographical location, historical, touristic and humanitarian features, high comfort in its qualified hospitals and clinics, the number of which is increasing day by day, especially NEU Hospital, state-of-the-art technology devices, specialist physicians using up-to-date information, international accreditations as well as the price advantages it offers.

Savaşan said that with the signed agreement, more patients from Russian-speaking countries will be sent to Northern Cyprus, which will create an important added value, and emphasized that the agreement is of historical importance in this respect.

Finally, Savaşan thanked the representatives of the countries that signed the agreement to send patients to Northern Cyprus on behalf of Near East University and Turkish Cypriots.

AKKÖK “THE AGREEMENT IS A BIG STEP TOWARDS THE DEVELOPMENT OF HEALTH TOURISM”

In his speech, Akkök stated that the International Medical Tourism Forum (International Medical Tourism Forum) convened in Barcelona, Spain last year and emphasized that holding the meeting in TRNC this year and signing a cooperation agreement between the participating countries is a big step towards the development of Health Tourism in Northern Cyprus.

At the end of his speech, Mert Akkök thanked NEU Chairman of the Board of Trustees Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel for hosting the event.
